fiber optic cable (jumper) is similar to the coaxial cable.The different is that fiber optic cable
without mesh shield.and the senter  is the glass core for propagation of light.
The core diameter of coaxialcable is 15UM-50UM, approximately considerable thickness of a
human hair.and the core diameter of fiber optic cable is  8um-10um,outside the core surrounded by a layer of Glass envelope which refractive index lower than the core.So that the optical fiber
 is maintained in the core and then outside is a thin layer of plastic jacket to protect the envelope.
